"Westmoreland in Where the Mountain Stands Alone" is the title of the discussion by John Harris who teaches English and American Studies at Franklin Pierce University. He will focus on the contributions of Westmoreland to this anthology of regional stories. the program will look at the history of the County farm, the Connecticut River and the construction of the railroad in town. |

| "Up Close and Personal: Keeping History Alive with
Original Documents and Manuscripts" presented by Alan F. Rumrill,
Executive Director of the Historical Society of Cheshire County. In this day of cell phones and e-mail that is deleted the same day it is received, it is more important than ever to preserve our written history. Mr Rumrill will discuss what items should be saved or donated to the local historical society when you clean out your home or office. Delightful historical examples will be shared. |

| The program on "Things Japanese: Celebrating 150 years", will be presented by Anita Carroll-Weldon, Director of the Horatio Colony House Museum & Nature Preserve. Her PowerPoint presentation and lecture will include an overview of the museum followed by a brief history of Japan leading up to the end of isolation in 1858, as well as a description of the cultural impact of trade. Images will include some items in the exhibit augmented by additional representations from Japanese art. |
